Rail News to Confuse
The sign at upper right says it all, "It can't be done." But right below the sign, the Central of Georgia 349 push-me-pull-you double-ended steam loco with center tender nears completion in East Chattanooga. The innovative design, inspired by the Budd RDC, whch can run in either direction without being physically turned around, will allow the 349 to bypass using such historically significant installations as turntables and wyes. A simple runaround will be all it needs.

Santa's Train Shop In an unprecedented expansion of service area, the Columbus & Greenville Railway began serving the North Pole just in time for the Christmas season. Competitor BNSF reportedly is delivering coal this Christmas and was unavailable for comment. C&G 1804 is shown drilling the yard at Santa's workshop near the North Pole depot.
