Iron Horses 630 and 6914 race to the finish at TVRM

Back-Shop forces at TVRM turned up the heat on the efforts to return steam locomotive #630 and diesel #6914 to operation. During July '09, crewmwn began installing the 630's driving wheels, after the locomotive had spent most of the decade resting on blocks at the back of the shop. Steamvalley.com props go to to both steam and diesel workers for moving these projects along. And as always, TVRM needs your support in the form of time and contributions.

In the early 1970s TVRM's track ended at Tunnel Blvd. The bridge connecting the East Chattanooga museum site with the area now called Grand Junction was built in late 1976 and 1977 and dedicated May 25th. Southern Railway's Jim Bistline and TVRM's Paul Merriman drove the golden spike.
